Fruity
[US Slang]: insane; crazy

This series of photographs is an exploration of abstracted forms, concentrating on the interplay of colored inks suspended in water around fruits. The colors of the ink, fruits and backgrounds are carefully selected to complement each other and dictate the mood of each photograph—from bright and playful to dark and menacing.
The title of the work refers to the word ‘fruity’ as used as a slang for a person who is eccentric or crazy, and lends an interpretive dimension to these abstract compositions. They are indirectly evocative of ‘Rorschach’ inkblot tests used in psychological analysis wherein the subjects’ perceptions of the inkblots are used to understand personality characteristics.
